Scientific research capacity

The Institute of Oceanography currently consists of 11 specialized departments, 2 functional departments, 3 monitoring stations (Nha Trang, Can Gio and Kien Giang) and an Oceanographic Museum. With 121 expert staff in many fields including 2 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 16 PhDs, 43 Masters and 41 Engineers/Bachelor of Science.

Introduce

The Institute of Oceanography was established under Decision No. 23/KHCNQG-QD dated June 19, 1993 of the Director of the National Center for Natural Sciences and Technology (now the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) regulating the tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Institute of Oceanography.

The Institute of Oceanography has the functions of basic research, basic investigation, technology development and training of highly qualified human resources in the field of oceanography and other related fields according to the provisions of law.
